Finn - Brisbane Newborn session
Sweet baby Finn was born on the 4th April 2018 (yes I am a bit slow with this blog).
He was about two weeks old when I visited to capture his newborn photos, and it was just starting to get slightly chilly in Brisbane. This meant it was the perfect weather to be wrapped in his special handmade blanket made by his Great Auntie Noreen who passed away shortly before he was born.
Only a few weeks prior I had met with his parents Lucy and Tom to capture their maternity session. It was a beautiful autumn sunset in Brisbane, and I'm so glad we chose that date!
I thought perhaps the pink sunset was a sign that Lucy's belly dweller was a little girl, but as we soon found out Finn was in fact a boy. Though that wasn't the only surprise.
Finn surprised everyone by weighing 3.71kg which is a good size especially when you look back at the size of Lucy's belly. Where was he hiding?
Finn had one last surprise to spring on his parents, when he was found to be Breech (bottom first) while Lucy was in labour with him. This clever little guy tricked everyone!
I think he was just setting the ground rules early that he will always be full of surprises.
Those sweet little fingers..so cute!
While planning Finn's newborn session Lucy told me about the old shed in the backyard and the white picket fence along the back. I loved it, and I was so glad that we were able to go outside.
This is the yard that Finn will first touch (and eat!) grass, learn to crawl and to walk. One day he will be taller than that white picket fence and Lucy and Tom can look back on these images and see how tiny he once was. In that newborn haze of the days when they first brought him home.
Just as we were coming to the end of our time together I noticed how tiny their kitchen sink was, and it dawned on me that Finn will only fit in there for a VERY short amount of time. So we finished with a nice warm bath in the sink.
One day when Finn is washing the dishes he can imagine just how little he was to be able to fit in there.
